256 Trainers

Because this is a Pokémon Championship Series Special Events with free registration, we have several MANDATORY TRAINER CONFIRMATION DEADLINES in place to maximise the number of players that will effectivly participate in the event!

In addition, because registration is free, there will be no early access period for Junior and Senior Trainer registration! All available tickets will go up at the same time.

Tuesday 17.01.2023 – 20:00 CET – First wave: ALL tickets go live for all divisions and games.

ALL Trainers who claimed a ticket will be required to submit their preliminary Decklist/Team sheet by Wednesday 22.02.  19:00 CET.
Any failure to meet this deadline will result in the player getting dropped and their ticket will go up again in the second wave.

Wednesday 22.02.2023 – 20:00 CET – Second wave of redistributed tickets go live for all divisions and games.

ALL Trainers who claimed a ticket in wave 2 will be required to submit their preliminary Decklist/Team sheet by Wednesday 08.03.  19:00 CET.
Any failure to meet this deadline will result in the player getting dropped and their ticket will go up again in the third wave.

Wednesday 08.03.2023 – 20:00 CET – Third wave of redistributed tickets

This will be the last wave of tickets going up, we expect this wave to be extremely limited and ask all trainers if there is a reason why they can no longer participate in the Utrecht Specials to contact our customer support and release their reservation to another trainer.

Pokémon GO main event info

Please use the following document to register your team lineup, this document will be collected by the judges during the player meeting at the start of the event.

Pokémon GO players will be provided a mobile device by Play-the-championships as a gaming device during the event. All players will be required to log in on these devices via their own account to participate.

Please take note these are Android devices and any players who exclusively use Apple ID to log in to Pokémon GO are required to make sure they have additional login methods available to their account. All other login methods are acceptable; even if your account is not linked to your Trainer Club ID!

After check-in and player meeting all main event participants will be assigned to a pool of up to 32 players. All stages of the event will follow a double-elimination format. Players who lose two matches are out of the tournament. The top 2 players of each pool will then advance to the Finals phase on Sunday to determine the overall winner of the tournament.

During the Grand Finals, if the player from the Winners bracket loses the first match, a bracket reset match will occur, and play will continue until one player has lost two matches.
