We, here at tournamentcenter, are excited to announce more information regarding the upcoming European Magic Series (EMS).

After our announcement two weeks ago, we were humbled and encouraged by the messages of support and excitement. We are delighted to return to the Magic: The Gathering scene as the official tournament organizer for the Regional Championships event series in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region and we feel so fortunate to see so many of you are excited too!

An integral part of the EMS are, of course, the Regional Championship Qualifiers (RCQs). We are looking forward to support WPN stores that run the RCQs, from kit sales, to retail and community support across the event season, and even event promotion. Season 1 of the EMEA RCQs will start on the 20th of April 2024 and end on the 21st of July 2024. This will be the period in which WPN stores will have to run and report their Regional Championship Qualifiers.

We are planning on going live with kit sales on the 4th of March 2024. Eligible stores will receive an email from us informing them on how to register and buy the kits. This email will come from our Retail Support mailbox.

European Magic Series RCQ Kit Contents

Each kit will support 32 players and contain 32 non-foil Springleaf Drum participation promos, 16 non-foil Goblin Guide cards for Top 16 and the winner will receive a foil Goblin Guide, as well as an invite to the corresponding Regional Championship.

Each store will be able to run a maximum of four RCQs per season. Stores have the option to purchase Add-on kits that increase the prize support, and thus increase event participation prizes from 32 to 48 or 64.

For WPN stores interested in knowing more about kits, please sign up for our newsletter here. If you have already registered, you will be receiving information from us later this week.

The format for the Season 1 RCQs will be Limited or Pioneer, and each event will require a minimum of 8 players to be validated.

Where are we going?

We are working on securing the best venue for our inaugural Regional Championship. Although we are not ready to share where this will be, yet, we are getting closer to being able to do so. We simply want this to be the absolute best event, as it will mark our official return to the game that started it all for us as a company.

What we can tell you is that the Regional Championship will take place between the 28th of September and the 01st of December. We are very excited to have a gorgeous Seasoned Pyromancer promo card for the event, that features cats as elementals.

We have seen your feedback and messages about side events and although we are still finalizing the schedule, we are dedicated to running as many fun/interesting side events as we can fit.

The Qualified players that attend an upcoming MTG Regional Championship, will receive a Secret Lair Seasoned Pyromancer!

Our next Milestone will be the launch of our sales to stores on the 4th of March 2024!

Ask your local store if they are organizing RCQs this season!

FAQ

The European Magic Series is the name of the upcoming Regional Championship event series in the EMEA region. These Regional Championships are the gateway for competitive Magic: The Gathering players into the Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour and World Championships.

We are still working on locations for the upcoming season and we’re not ready to announce the exact dates just yet. We can reveal that the first EMS Regional Championship will be held between 28th September 2024 and 01st December 2024.

As we said above, we’re not yet ready to announce the exact location just yet.
We ask for a bit more patience as we work on it, we will announce this as soon as possible.

There will be 3 EMS Regional Championships each year.
We will work with other large MTG tournament organizers to work on Destination Qualifiers that will offer several qualification slots.

We will check-in back with you all on the 4th of March 2024 when the Regional Championship Qualifier store kits will go live on our web platform.

The Regional Championship will be free of charge for players who have won an invite. Players can win invites from winning a Regional Championship Qualifier (hosted by a WPN store), from Destination Qualifiers and Last Chance Qualifiers. Winners are only able to use their invites at the Regional Championship corresponding with the qualifying season.

You are allowed to trade cards with your friends and other players.

Buying and selling are only allowed with/by the official vendors that are present at the event. If you are found buying and/or selling to someone that is not an official vendor, you will be removed from the tournament hall.

Please reach out to staff@tournamentcenter.biz expressing your interest in staffing.
You’ll then receive a Discord invite to our tournamentcenter Staff Community Discord where further steps will be shared.

Local rules and regulations apply, but players must be 13 years or older, or have written parental permission to participate in our events.

We expect our Regional Championships to feel similar to the previous Regional Championships you’ve participated in before.

At its heart will be the Regional Championship Main Event, with side events, vendors, and Commander play surrounding it. The size and scope of these extra activities will depend on the event hall and available space, this will vary. We will announce further details when the Regional Championship will be fully announced.

We will comply with applicable local laws and regulations.
Please reach out to our Customer Support team if you have any specific questions or requests.

We always welcome feedback! Please send any feedback or questions you may have via email: magic@tournamentcenter.gg
